Sustainability

We believe beautiful things shouldn’t come at the planet’s expense. Every decision, from the materials we source to the way we pack and post our products, is made with care, not just for our customers’ homes, but for the world we all share.

The Product

Sustainability starts with how our products are made. Each piece is crafted by hand by skilled artisans and aged in our London workshop, allowing us to control quality and reduce waste at every stage of production. By making items to order and in small batches, we avoid overproduction and unnecessary surplus.

Brass is a material that can be repaired, refinished, and fully recycled. Our finishes are created using traditional ageing techniques rather than chemical coatings, reducing the environmental impact of our manufacturing process.

We work closely with our suppliers to continually review materials and methods, seeking ways to improve durability and efficiency while minimising waste and energy use. Our goal is simple: to make hardware that’s built responsibly, lasts a lifetime, and leaves as little trace as possible.

Thoughtful Packaging

All of our packaging is recyclable, biodegradable, or compostable, and most of it is made from recycled materials. We work closely with our suppliers to ensure they follow the same principles wherever possible.

Protecting our hardware during shipping is crucial, but we’re committed to doing it responsibly. Brass isn’t the easiest thing to ship, it’s heavy, it scratches, and it deserves to arrive looking its best. We’ve spent time finding alternatives to the usual polystyrene and bubble wrap, and as of 2025, we’ve replaced all of it with paper and cardboard. It’s taken some trial and error, but we’re proud to say our packaging now protects what’s inside and the planet outside
