Our Burnished Aged Brass finish is designed to develop naturally throughout its lifetime. Left unlacquered, it responds to air, moisture and everyday use, allowing the surface to slowly acquire greater depth and character.
The Burnished finish will change more subtly than our Aged finish. Its more even tone softens and matures with use, while frequently handled areas develop gentle highlights that add richness without dramatically altering its overall appearance. The result is a finish that retains its refined, understated character while becoming increasingly individual over time.
Like all living finishes, this natural evolution is an inherent characteristic of solid brass and part of what makes every piece unique.
Crafted from Solid Brass
Every Ottone Hardware piece begins life as a solid-cast brass casting, valued for its strength, reassuring weight and exceptional longevity. Naturally resistant to corrosion, brass will not rust and also possesses inherent antimicrobial properties, making it an excellent choice for cabinet hardware throughout the home.
After polishing, each piece is individually hand-aged to create the Burnished finish. No coatngs or lacquers are applied, allowing the brass itself to provide the depth and warmth that define the finish. As every piece is completed by hand, subtle differences in tone and texture are a natural part of the process and contribute to the individuality of each collection.
The Burnished Aged Brass finish complements both contemporary and traditional interiors, offering an elegant alternative to brushed brass or satin brass. Its balanced appearance makes it particularly suited to cabinetry where a softer, more consistent finish is preferred, without losing the warmth and authenticity of naturally aged solid brass.
