Our story
Ottone Hardware was founded by Ces from a desire to see and experience craft and effect in his own home. During a top-to-toe house renovation in 2019, one of the most difficult hurdles he and his wife Lucy had to overcome was the sourcing of affordable aged brass hardware. Experimenting with the ageing process on their own brass achieved such a great impact within their home they knew it had to be explored further. Fast forward a few years and today Ottone are happy to share their beautiful designs and patinas to all on a varied section of products.
Working from a small workshop in East London, we have developed many interesting patina ‘recipes’ to create perfect heart-warming effects for any home.
No nasty chemicals are used in the ageing process, only natural ingredients.
We love brass!
Fun fact: Brass is germicidal which means it can kill microorganisms on contact and is resistant to corrosion and tarnishing, so it is suitable for outdoor fixtures and applications.
It's a durable, low-maintenance material, making it a great choice for high-traffic areas. It can be a great way to tie together a modern and traditional design; it can be paired with a wide range of materials, such as wood, glass and can help to balance out cooler, more industrial materials like concrete or metal.
Aged brass is a classic and elegant choice for many home design projects. It has an authentic, timeless look and tactile finish, with the mellowed golden tones giving a sophisticated, vintage-inspired style to any room.
Our antique brass finish is created by oxidising the metal, through a series of hand applied processes and surface wear, resulting in a unique patina. No two pieces are alike.
